Origins:
Raalk Stalnic was born on August 20th, 1714 in the village of Solvaakneric, Solvaak Provence, Gaaric Republic to his parents Montaag Staalnic and Alna Waknleic.
In May 1720, Montaag Staalnic, his wife, and child met the Spizers for the first time.
Perwin Spizer introduces the Staalnics to the "Gaarou Initiative." Perwin Spizer is in charge of this organization whose goal is to unite the Gaarou of Garaak together to help guide the Gaaric Civilization into becoming a better world.
Montaag Staalnic is intitially skeptical of the program as he fears that this organization may try to take advantage of or harm the immortal Gaarou.
After some negotiation, Montaag reluctantly agrees and the Staalnics join the program.
The program was to be based in Kelvaaknot in the Kelvaa Province of the Old Gaaric Republic with travel to different provinces to encourage more Gaarou to join.
The Staalnics move to Kelvaaknot.
The Accidental Encounter:
June 22nd, 1735
Raalk Staalnik bumped into Gairiff by accident when trying to visit the beach. Raalk had never been or seen the ocean before and wanted to go to the beach and walk around in the water. Ernik Spiezer was preventing him from leaving the Spiezer compound without his supervision and never allowed him to go visit the ocean. However, Raalk managed to escape Spiezer and ran all the way to the beach. He almost made it before accidentally running into Gairiff. Gairiff was wearing a brand new uniform he received for his birthday and the collision spilled Gairiff's beverage all over his clothes.
Instead of being angry, Gairiff introduced himself to Raalk and the two became friends. Unfortunately, before Gairiff could take Raalk onto the beach, Ernik Spiezer found them and took Raalk away.
The Sea in a Bottle:
June 30th, 1735
Ernik Spizzer prevented Raalk from getting to visit the sea after Raalk ran into Gairiff. Gairiff felt sorry and wanted to send Raalk a small bit of the sea for him to enjoy.
Raalk was so happy to receive a gift from a friend, or in this case more than just a friend. This is when Raalk begins to have feelings for Gairiff. Raalk doesn't understand what is happening to him as Ernik Spiezer was trying to train him to be homophobic. He feels that Gairiff is more than just a friend, Gairiff is his BEST FRIEND.
The Sea Caves:
June 6th 1733
The Staalnics once again are visiting the Spiezer compound in Montigoor and Raalk is visiting his boyfriend Gairiff.
Raalk, Gairiff, and Serraak decide to explore the sea caves. The three have a good time together. Gairiff and Serraak are both from seafaring families and know all about the dangers of the sea and tides. Gairiff knew that that day would be one of the 'Great Tides' as the three moons of Garaak would be aligned in such a way that height and duration of the high tide would be much greater than usual. Unfortunately, Raalk has little understanding of this and loses track of time. Gairiff and Serraak have already exited the caves, as Serraak needed to go see his girlfriend. Gairiff realizes that Raalk must have not followed them out of the caves. Unfortunately, the tide is rising fast and Raalk is not a good swimmer. He becomes trapped in the caves. Raalk tries to climb up the rocks, but falls back into the water. Luckily, Gairiff swims into the cave and finds Raalk struggling. Gairiff helps Ralk up onto an outcropping that was above the 'Great Tide' maximum.
Raalk is soaking wet and cold. Gairiff removes his shirt and wraps it around him, holding him closely. Raalk is overcome with strange feelings as Gairiff's body is right up against his. Gairiff feels something hard and Raalk is overcome with embarrassment. Raalk tries to apologize to Gairiff, but Gairiff realizes that Raalk has feelings for him. He tells Raalk that it is ok and that he himself actually had feelings for him too. Gairiff then gives Raalk his first kiss. The two then admit their feelings for eachother and make love for the first time.
They remain in the caves together until the tide falls the next morning. Serraak, Ernik Spiezer, and the Staalniks are waiting for them as they exit the caves. Spiezer is angry, but Serraack and Raalk's parents are glad that they two made it through the night OK. Raalk keeps what happened a secret between himself and Gairiff.
The Proposal - Nooramlegalak:
July 1st, 1738
One summer's evening, Gairiff and Raalk are watching the sunset together. The Staalnics are expected to be away for a while again and Raalk wanted to spend these last days together before he left. Gairiff and Raalk have been together for years now, and Gairiff felt it was the time to 'propose' to Raalk.
The Nooric Gaar have a centuries long tradition of proposal and courtship by dance. The Nooric 'Lover's Dance,' the 'Nooramlegalak,' is a dance to be conducted by a couple which is the Nooric equivalent to a marriage proposal. The initiator will ask the recipient to dance and will initiate the dance with their dominant paw outstretched in a bow, towards the recipient so that they can receive it, while their other hand is extended outward reaching up behind them. If the recipient accepts the proposal, the two will conduct the dance as traditionally specified, usually with traditional Nooric or similar music in the background. However, designed as a test of the bond between the lovers, the dance has an intentional abrupt stop right at the climax of the dance. Nooric legend says that if the two lovers can complete the dance impromptu, then that means their hearts and souls are one, they are meant to be together. However, if they are unable to complete the dance, it is a bad omen for the relationship.
Gairiff asks Raalk to dance and he accepts. The two dance gracefully in the light of the setting sun. It appeared that the two were destined to be with one another as their hearts were beating as one and their souls became entwined. Unfortunately, right as the dance was about to end, they heard Ernik Spiezer coming and quickly stopped.
Unfortunately, Ernik Spiezer had seen everything. He had become aware of this Nooric tradition and was extremely furious with Raalk. The homophobic fucker hid his rage as he told Raalk that his father was waiting for him. Gairiff and Rallk say goodbye (for the last time as lovers), without finishing the dance, as Spiezer takes Raalk back to the compound.
Testing the Serum - Spiezer's in Control:
July 1st-2nd, 1738
Heartbreak:
July 2nd, 1738
Ernik Spiezer forced Raalk to violently assault Gairiff Naar under the threat of killing Naar if Raalk disobeyed.
Gairiff does not know the circumstances of Raalk's actions and becomes heartbroken and is devastated by this extremely homophobic act.
Raalk is devastated at what Ernik Spiezer has forced him to do, but he always kept Gairiff in his heart as he still truly loved him.
